Hello Everyone,
This email is an effort to keep everyone informed on the progress of the proposed name change to the Grant Jr. Bulldogs.
Please be advised we are listening to everyone's opinion so we do what is collectively best for the organization as cases can be made for changing to the Jr. Bulldogs and remaining the Cardinals.
At the meeting last night, we discussed not only the pros and cons to change to the Jr. Bulldogs, but also a possible alternative plan to delay the change until 2010.
The Board will entertain a motion at the January 21st Board Meeting to change the organizational name to Grant Jr. Bulldogs Football and Cheerleading (Legal Corporation Name: Grant Junior Bulldogs Booster Club ) effective Immediately.
If this motion fails, then the board will entertain a second motion to change the name to the Grant Jr. Bulldogs effective January of 2010.
Both name change motions would require the organization to spend money to make the change. The difference is to budget for the change and spend the money in the year the change is made versus fund-raising in advance and bank the money for a future change. There are legitimate advantages and disadvantages for both options. For example it was proposed that we could order Game Jerseys without the cardinal head embroidered in the front so that a Bulldog could be added to those jerseys in 2010, or perhaps do a patch with the cardinal head for 2009 for those with jerseys already who do not need to purchase a new jersey for 2009.
While we are not able to outline every advantage and disadvantage for all the options, we are providing this information so that you will have an opportunity to consider this in advance and then reach out to your respective 2008 Head Coach so they are aware of your position and cast their vote accordingly.
